I was usually stirring the tofu constantly with the veggies. Then, I started to walk away for about five minutes, and the sides were getting nice and crisp. I found that helped.

I'll try the semi-soft. I always assumed Extra Firm would hold together well, so I've never deveated (well, except for the last time when Firm was all they had). There's a recipe in Vegan with a Vengeance for Scrambled Tofu...does the semi-soft break up easier? I want to make this at some point.

I will have to try that soon. Sounds really good. There was some soy sauce or something Trader Joes was advertising, but I forgot to pick it up on Saturday morning.

Ethan loves graham crackers, so I bought some there even though we still have some at home. Damn. Those were good. Everything from Trader Joes seems to be a little bit better. Maybe it's the Hawaiian shirts.

I've found that I actually like the semi-soft tofu better than the firm (which is typically recommended for sauteing). For some reason the firm comes out rubbery after sauteing. Not sure this would apply here, but you may want to give it a shot (or with another recipe).

I've been told exercise is really only effective if you're also running a calorie deficit. That is, if you want to lose weight when you get over 30.

Congratulations...as for Bourdain, he reportedly quit smoking after the birth of his daughter, so I would take his rantings with a grain of hops.

Sounds tasty...don't have a good name for you that wouldn't sound stupid...

Reagan and I have been making tofu with a veg or 2 of yer choice, saute it, and then add green, yellow, or red Thai curry saute sauce from Trader Joe's. Drop it over some jasmine rice and you've got yerself some good eats. Cheap from Trader Joe's and tasty...

You have to starve yourself. Drink lots of green tea with no honey, sugar, Splenda or NutriSweet. Those last 2 rot yer brain. The others make green tea palatable but are loaded with empty calories. Don't eat anything white; bread, sugar, milk, etc. Maybe you can eat cauliflower and yogurt. You want fiber and protein. All the sugar and carbs will keep feeding your fat cells. Also, run 5 miles a day and do lots of ab exercises and weight training. Instead of going to church on Sunday, take a yoga class. Take tai chi and akido classes during the week.

If this doesn't work, pick up a drug habit...some of the same drugs that cut down on food cravings are also great energy boosters and could even increase your productivity at work. A win, win scenario...
